I’m a BIG fan of Osea Skincare. I have tried several of their products and I have fallen in love with all of them. All of their products are made in sunny Southern California and they are a family-owned brand. They are a consciously crafted skincare line and inspired by the sea and seaweed. This is even displayed in their name OSEA meaning: Ocean, Sea, Earth, and Atmosphere.

As you start investigating their products you notice an underlying theme and that is seaweed. Seaweed is their star ingredient. Seaweed contains powerful bioavailable minerals and nutrients that are readily absorbed and utilized to transform, nourish and rejuvenate skin cells. But how did seaweed come about in their skincare. Well, it’s a family story.

About 100 years ago the great-grandmother Elsa Reuschle had a terrible fall and tore several tendons in her leg. One morning she awoke from a dream in which the ocean had healed her. At sunrise, she told her husband Frank to take her to the beach. Almost immediately, she saw small improvements. She continued swimming daily. Within a few weeks, her leg was healed! 

When I heard this story I was amazed and intrigued. But I know for a fact that going to the ocean does have healing properties. Even the sand with grounding helps your overall health.

So you still though may be asking, “But how did her leg really get healed?” That is a valid question so here is the answer. Seaweed and the ocean. Elsa attributed her recovery to the full spectrum of minerals and trace elements present in the saltwater and the abundance of seaweed. She even began collecting mineral-rich Bladderwrack algae to make seaweed poultices. Elsa continued this into her 90s!

Intrigued by all this the granddaughter Jenefer the Co-Founder of Osea studied holistic healing herself. Committed to building a sanctuary of healing with ocean essences at its core OSEA was born. And we are all surely thankful that it was.

 

Osea’s inspiration, backstory, ethos, sustainability, and commitment to safe, clean, skincare really resonates with me. I truly care about what I put on my skin topically, but I also care about the environment and how things are made as well. 

From top to bottom, from Osea’s sourcing each of their quality ingredients, to be concerned about the ethical treatment of those involved in the harvesting process, speaks volumes about this company.

Osea is top-notch and I will always stand for companies like this that take a true interest in all aspects of business. Plus I love that the whole family is involved in every aspect of the company. Even Jenefer’s daughter, Melissa has joined the team and is the CEO + CO-FOUNDER.

Melissa looks like a cutie pie and that she truly enjoys life. Here smile is infectious and you just have to smile too. It’s probably the case because she is part of a beauty brand and family that has created a luxury, clean skincare sphere. A clean skincare sphere that works.

I truly see that this is the case. Every time I use their products my skin just loves it. I am excited to apply their skincare day and night. You just feel at complete peace with every application. You know that you are doing things right for your skin and taking proper care of it.

Some of my favorites are the Ocean Cleanser, Ocean Cleansing Milk, Atmosphere Protection Cream, and Ocean Cleansing Mudd. I wasn’t disappointed with any of these products.
